The Next Generation of Healthcare Begins Here
Published by Joe Anzora on
Everyone working in healthcare takes their own unique path into the profession. Some begin with a clear vision early in life, while others discover their calling through experiences that reveal just how deeply health and well-being shape our communities. However those journeys begin, they share a common starting point: they begin with students—learning, exploring, and deciding how they hope to make a difference in the lives of others.
In the Inland Empire, the need for those future healthcare professionals is especially significant. Communities across the region continue to face challenges related to healthcare access, including shortages of healthcare providers and various other barriers that can make it difficult for individuals and families to receive the care they need. According to the most recent healthcare workforce data from the CA Department of Healthcare Access & Information, the Inland Empire will face a 6.1% coverage gap in RNs by 2033, a 34% coverage gap of Behavioral/Mental Healthcare workers, and a 32% coverage gap of licensed physicians. Addressing these challenges requires more than expanding services today—it requires supporting the individuals who are preparing to serve in those roles tomorrow.
RMC Charitable Foundation is proud to support that future through our healthcare scholarship program, which provides financial support to students pursuing education and training in healthcare-related fields.
Healthcare careers come in a variety of forms, and the scholarship program reflects that reality. Opportunities are available for students entering college or university healthcare programs, individuals pursuing technical or vocational healthcare training, and those continuing their education within the healthcare field. Each pathway represents a different way of contributing to the health and well-being of our communities.
By supporting students across multiple educational pathways, we meet future healthcare professionals wherever they may be in their journey. Some may be preparing for careers as nurses, physicians, or therapists. Others may pursue technical roles that support patient care, diagnostic services, or community health programs. Together, these roles form the network of professionals that communities rely on for care.
Through this program, RMC Charitable Foundation supports students who are preparing to dedicate their knowledge, skills, and compassion to helping others live healthier lives. In doing so, we are also investing in the long-term health of the communities we serve across the Inland Empire.
Applications for the scholarship program are now open and will close on May 22, 2026.
