AED Access Program

AED ACCESS PROGRAM

WHAT IS AN “AED”:

  • An AED (Automated External Defibrillator) is a life-saving device used to assist someone experiencing sudden cardiac arrest. While it is a sophisticated medical tool, AEDs are designed to be safe, intuitive, and easy to use. The device analyzes a person’s heart rhythm and, when necessary, delivers an electrical shock to help restore a normal heartbeat.
  • Access to an AED can mean the difference between life and death during the critical minutes before emergency responders arrive. Despite their proven impact, only about one in four Americans report having access to an AED at their workplace. Expanding access to these devices helps ensure more people are prepared to act when every second counts.
