The Rocky Mountain Cancer Centers Foundation (The RMCC Foundation) is a Colorado-based charity that provides emergency financial assistance for the basic living needs of cancer patients and their families including housing, food, utilities, transportation, and medicines. The Foundation's goal is to provide support and care with dignity. This support helps reduce the stress of maintaining daily routines during treatment and contributes to retaining a good quality of life.
The RMCC Foundation was started in 1999 by a group of doctors, patients, friends, and associates of the Rocky Mountain Cancer Centers. These volunteers recognized that most patients find that in addition to the shock of diagnosis and the rigors of treatment, there is a sudden increase in household expenses for all kinds of non-medical needs, not covered by insurance. A patient's normal budget is overturned at the same time their income may be reduced because they are unable to work due to the illness. Their stress level greatly increases at the very time they need to be focusing on battle with cancer. Our objective is to reduce this stress whenever possible and help ensure that patients can continue their treatment. The RMCC Foundation wants to keep families intact and provide care and support with dignity.
